The Baking Sheet - Issue #112

Your Heroes. Your Battles. YOUR Cards.

Welcome to this week’s issue of The Baking Sheet!

As Protocol Kathmandu is in the final stages of voting, Emerrgents launching its public beta, this week has seen lots of development and adoption within the Tezos ecosystem. In this week’s issue, we’re going to start off with the ELEET Games news.

Eleet = Elite

Recently, we were treated to some interesting news on the gaming front. ELEET Games announced their plans to start building Web3 games exclusively on Tezos.

Carsten van Husen, Founder and CEO of ELEET Games:

“We are delighted to join the ranks of companies supported by the Tezos Foundation in the gaming space. Becoming a part of the Tezos community and starting to build on the Tezos blockchain provides us – as well as industry powerhouse Ubisoft before - with a joyful playground: scalable, user-friendly and energy-efficient. Perfect to build fun and fair games which actually possess the potential to drive crypto adoption.”

I think this news is more than indicative of the growing amount of interest of new gaming applications we’ve seen spring up on Tezos. Earlier in the week, we witnessed Emergents’ public beta go live as well. It’s pretty clear Tezos is making a real home for NFTs and gaming, just ask industry heavyweights like Ubisoft.

ELEET also plans to launch several on and off-chain games along with NFTs and a native $LEET token on Tezos.

Mason Edwards, Chief Commercial Officer of the Tezos Foundation:

“ELEET building exclusively on Tezos arrives at an exciting time of evolution in the gaming industry. Gaming is a keystone for the Tezos ecosystem that has established itself as a home for the Web3 creator economy. I’m excited to see ELEET become part of this community and take a lead in building the next generation of games on Tezos’.

The potential for Tezos to carve out a space as a leader in the blockchain-based gaming ecosystem is quite large. As we progress further along towards the new Web3 frontier, those applications building on Tezos are uniquely positioned to take advantage of this shift.

With Protocol Kathmandu in its final stages of voting as well, there’s lots to be excited about within the Tezos ecosystem in terms of development, adoption and abroad.
