New week, new product launch

Welcome to this week’s issue of The Baking Sheet!
Protocol Kathmandu has been activated on the Tezos network! As we reflect on this month with September coming to a close, we were met with an interesting development this week surrounding Souvie.
In this week’s issue, we’re going to highlight the recently launched Souvie dApp – Let’s dive in!
NFT souvenirs made easy
Souvie is live
Designed to make the web3 onboarding process easier for new users at in-person events, Souvie provides a unique application for gifting NFTs and experiencing web3 seamlessly.
Using Kukai Wallet, attendees at events will be able to instantly create their own Tezos wallet in just a few clicks and receive their NFTs along the way.

That said, I think this application is pretty neat. If you’re a brand/company organizing lots of events, this is clearly very useful for you in introducing new entrants to web3.
The ticker to me is the sheer simplicity of it all. That’s something I feel gets taken for granted within the blockchain space, especially by those already well accustomed to creating a wallet, using it, etc.
The last thing you would want is to have this great technology and confuse newcomers with a hurdle of onboarding steps. By getting people’s foot in the door through merely a few clicks, they’ll likely be more drawn to learn more about what they were gifted.
Simplicity is key and in an age where attention is fleeting, positive experiences will come from the least amount of hurdles placed on a user.
Who doesn’t love free stuff, anyway?

This Week in the Tezos Ecosystem
Infrachain, the Luxembourg based non-profit organization for operational blockchain projects announces its contribution to the Tezos Blockchain ecosystem by becoming a baker.
Infrachain is currently running a node on the Tezos blockchain network, which is a decentralized, public blockchain that evolves by upgrading itself through on-chain governance. This blockchain network is supported by Nomadic Labs, a research and development company that contributes to the development, adoption and evolution of Tezos.
For Infrachain members that operate in the Tezos network, this is a step forward in ensuring that their transactions are baked in a selected node, i.e., Infrachain Tezos Baker, and hence avoiding contribution to unauthorized bakers.
According to Hadrien Zerah, Managing Director at Nomadic Labs
“Organizations and companies in all sectors now see the potential of blockchain. We are happy to welcome them and to see this community grow”.
“Hosting a Corporate Baker enables us to contribute to Tezos Network by supporting network sustainability, and further, we open possibilities for Infrachain members to know more about Tezos Blockchain capabilities,”
explained Dr. Adnan Imeri, Technical Lead of Infrachain.
