Tezos Governance Update: The Third Quebec Proposal Nears the Finish Line
Now that we’re deep into our second pumpkin spice latte, we’re reminded of the importance of community-driven decision-making in the Tezos ecosystem. This week, we find ourselves at a critical juncture: the third Quebec proposal is in its final stretch, with just two days remaining to vote.
Here’s where we stand:
Quebec leads with 166 million votes, showcasing strong support from the community.
Q3NA trails with 63 million votes.
While Quebec appears to have significant momentum, past governance cycles have taught us that anything can happen. This is no time for complacency! Bakers play a pivotal role in determining the future of Tezos, and your vote can help push the ecosystem forward.
Why Quebec Matters: The Quebec proposal includes vital features that set it apart:
Reduced Block Times: Minimum block times would drop from 10 seconds to 8 seconds, improving transaction finality.
Adaptive Maximum Issuance: Prevents excessive inflation while maintaining network security by dynamically adjusting issuance.
Enhanced Delegation Computation: Addresses user experience challenges for both bakers and delegators.
Increased External Stake Limits: Raises the limit on external stake acceptance, enabling bakers to attract more delegation and enhance staking participation.
This proposal embodies thoughtful advancements that reflect the needs of the Tezos community while ensuring the network remains robust and secure.
A Call to Action: As the governance window narrows, we urge all bakers to cast their votes. Participating ensures that the proposal you believe in has the best chance of advancing. Whether you're backing Quebec or Q3NA, your voice matters.

Paintboxed: Tezos World Tour Kicks Off in Miami
This holiday season, Tezos is set to light up the global art scene with Paintboxed: Tezos World Tour, an extraordinary series of interactive events presented by Artmeta. The journey begins on December 5th during Miami Art Week, promising an immersive experience into the history of digital art and its future, powered by Tezos.
A Blast from the Past
At the heart of the event is the legendary Quantel Paintbox, one of the earliest digital painting tools that defined the visual aesthetic of the 1980s. Famous for creating the MTV logo and the groundbreaking CGI music video “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits, this tool was once the crown jewel of digital creativity—carrying a hefty $250,000 price tag in its heyday.
The Quantel Paintbox has a storied past:
It shaped broadcast design for networks like ABC, NBC, and BBC.
In 1987, the BBC’s Painting with Light documentary series featured works by luminaries such as David Hockney and Howard Hodgkin, marking Hockney's first foray into digital tools.
Artists like Keith Haring also experimented with it, using the Paintbox to create dynamic digital art.
Now, thanks to Artmeta and Tezos, this iconic tool is being reintroduced to a new generation of artists, blending nostalgia with cutting-edge blockchain technology.
Paintboxed: Miami Art Week Highlights
The inaugural event at PepeFest’s Fake Basel 2024 will feature:
Live performances by RARE SCRILLA (aka DJ J-Scrilla) and DJ Qbert.
Screenings of Tezpepe artworks.
A celebration of digital art's evolution, connecting the Paintbox's legacy to the modern NFT ecosystem.
Following its Miami debut, the Paintboxed tour will travel to major cities worldwide, inviting artists to create digital works using the Quantel Paintbox. These new creations will be minted as NFTs on objkt.com, making them accessible to collectors and enthusiasts everywhere.
This initiative not only honors the history of digital art but also positions Tezos as a leader in the future of art and culture. By combining the heritage of the Paintbox with the possibilities of blockchain technology, Tezos continues to empower artists and collectors alike.

Game Spotlight: Building the Tezos Ecosystem
The gaming world on Tezos continues to expand in exciting ways this week with two impactful updates: the launch of GGEM, a game-changing Web3 game discovery platform, and insightful industry perspectives from Jeremy Foo of TZ APAC.
GGEM: Your Gateway to Web3 Gaming on Tezos
GGEM’s mission is to transform the way players and developers interact with Web3 games built on Tezos. With its sleek, user-friendly platform, GGEM eliminates the usual hurdles of blockchain gaming, creating a seamless experience for gamers.
Why GGEM Matters
The journey to playing a Web3 game often involves complex steps: setting up wallets, navigating exchanges, buying tokens, and more. GGEM simplifies this with an all-in-one launcher that:
Consolidates the player experience on one platform.
Removes the need for crypto wallets and third-party services.
Enables instant access to top games on Tezos without the headaches of blockchain complexities.
For developers, GGEM is a powerful tool to connect with audiences and showcase the best gaming experiences on Tezos. The platform’s mission is clear: introduce the world’s 3 billion gamers to the benefits of blockchain gaming without alienating them through unnecessary complexities.

Jeremy Foo’s Vision for Web3 Gaming: Back to the Fun
Secondly, In his op-ed for Korea IT Times, Jeremy Foo, Head of Gaming at TZ APAC, sheds light on the challenges facing Web3 gaming today. Despite billions of dollars flowing into development, many projects struggle with player retention and long-term sustainability.
What’s the Fix?
Foo emphasizes the importance of building games that prioritize fun, fairness, and real utility. Blockchain, he argues, should serve as an enhancement to great gameplay rather than being the sole selling point.
This philosophy aligns perfectly with Tezos’ ecosystem, where scalable solutions like Etherlink and tools like GGEM empower developers to create enjoyable, player-centric experiences.
