Tezos Governance Update: Quebec Advances to the Next Stage
Following a decisive vote, the Quebec proposal has successfully transitioned into the Exploration Phase of Tezos' governance cycle, surpassing the competing Q3NA proposal. Bakers have shown strong support, with 147 million votes (accounting for 99% of the total) in favor of Quebec. The proposal is now just 10% shy of the quorum required to progress to the next stage.
Key Features of the Quebec Proposal:
8-Second Block Times: Reduces block time from 10 to 8 seconds, enhancing transaction speed and user experience.
Adaptive Maximum Issuance: Introduces mechanisms to prevent excessive tez issuance when the staked ratio is near the target, promoting economic stability.
Delegation Power Adjustment: Modifies the computation of baking power for delegated funds, reducing their weight from 50% to 33% to encourage decentralization.
Increased External Stake Limit: Raises the cap on external stake a baker can accept from 5x to 9x their own stake, fostering greater participation and network security.
As the proposal moves forward, it's crucial for bakers to remain engaged and cast their votes to ensure the quorum is met and the amendment process continues smoothly.

Electric Dreams Lights Up the Tate Modern
Tezos is making waves in the art world once again, with the opening of Electric Dreams at the iconic Tate Modern. This major exhibition explores the intersection of art and technology from the 1950s to today, showcasing pioneers who dared to dream big—and Tezos-powered artists are taking center stage.
Among the stellar lineup, two artists working on Tezos are highlighted for their innovative contributions:
Analivia Cordeiro
A trailblazer in cybernetic choreography and video art, Brazilian artist and dancer Analivia Cordeiro has been shaping the dialogue between movement and technology since the 1970s.
Earlier this year, the Tezos Foundation supported her installation at Basel’s Digital Art Mile, where visitors were immersed in her interactive creations. Now, her groundbreaking work is featured at the Tate, with her digital art also available for private sale via Objkt.
Eduardo Kac
Eduardo Kac has been pushing boundaries since the 1980s, pioneering fields like telecommunications art and bio-art. His iconic lagoglyphs animations, available on Tezos, draw inspiration from GFP Bunny (Alba), his genetically modified glowing rabbit that captivated the world in 2000.
Kac’s work reflects his ability to merge living organisms with technology, creating thought-provoking pieces that challenge the limits of art. Earlier this year, his work was also celebrated in a video by Hans Ulrich Obrist of Serpentine Gallery, further cementing his influence in digital art.
With Tezos helping to bring these artists to a global audience, Electric Dreams promises to be a must-see event for art enthusiasts. If you're in London, don’t miss this incredible celebration of creativity and technology!
LeCoffre.io: Transforming the Notarial Profession with Tezos
In a landmark step for legaltech, LeCoffre.io, a secure platform developed specifically for notaries, is reshaping how notarial documents are managed and transmitted in France. Launched nationwide in June 2024 by not.IT FACTORY, LeCoffre.io is powered by Tezos, combining blockchain technology with the timeless values of security, sovereignty, and simplicity.
What Is LeCoffre.io?
Designed by notaries for notaries, LeCoffre.io provides an encrypted, streamlined, and traceable system for handling sensitive documents related to notarial acts. The platform enhances security by using Tezos to timestamp and verify documents, ensuring they are tamper-proof and GDPR-compliant.
Currently utilized by 30 notary offices across France—with a goal to expand to 100 by year’s end—LeCoffre.io aims to reduce fraud, hacking, and document tampering risks, all while offering a user-friendly interface for notaries and clients alike.
How It Works:
Notary Access: Notaries log into the platform using unique credentials.
Client Submission: Clients receive a secure, two-factor authenticated link via email to upload their documents.
Tezos Certification: Through a secure connection, documents are analyzed and certified on the Tezos blockchain. Files remain encrypted, confidential, and accessible only by the notary.
This system not only ensures data integrity but also aligns with France’s anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) regulations.
As LeCoffre.io continues its rollout, it underscores the value of blockchain in creating secure, efficient, and transparent solutions for essential services. By leveraging the strengths of Tezos, it sets a powerful precedent for the evolution of the notarial profession.
