TezCon 2025: A Celebration of Tezos Culture in Seattle

Following the full reveal of TezDev’s agenda and the flurry of events happening around Cannes, the focus shifts westward, straight to the Pacific Northwest: a grassroots, art-driven gathering born from the TezTones collective and grounded in the creative ethos of the Tezos ecosystem.

On June 28, Kenyon Hall in Seattle becomes home to the second edition of TezCon, a community-organized celebration that blends live music, panels, art installations, and local culture. This year, the event stretches across four days, with satellite activities like West Seattle tours, a community BBQ, and interactive art showcases that reinforce the local, collaborative spirit that’s at the heart of Tezos.

The Saturday program is the main draw, featuring:

  • Panels and conversations with artists, builders, and collectors

  • Live music from Ryan Tanaka, Hashbrown, B Dwil, and others

  • Art projections curated by TEIA and community collectives

  • Opportunities to connect with old friends and meet new collaborators

Whether you're showing up in person or catching the vibe online via livestream, TezCon 2025 is a reminder that what makes Tezos special isn’t just code, it’s culture and community.

This Week in the Tezos Ecosystem

This week, a long-requested feature quietly went live: fast withdrawals. Until now, moving assets from Etherlink back to Tezos L1 came with a 15-day challenge window. That delay is now gone. Withdrawals can settle in under a minute—trustless, secure, and smooth. For users bridging between L1 and L2, it’s a meaningful shift that opens the door to a more fluid experience across the stack.

And if you’ve been following the Summer of Code hackathon, things are about to take off. Kicking off July 9, this month-long builder sprint offers over £30,000 in bounties across four creative tracks: DeFi, games, collaboration tools, and wildcards. It’s an open call to try something unexpected on Etherlink, backed by a strong lineup of mentors and partners.

Between the new infrastructure and a fresh wave of experimentation, Etherlink is quickly becoming one of the most active corners of the Tezos ecosystem.

Catch up with Tezos Town Hall #10

The latest Tezos Town Hall (#10) offered a timely check-in on one of the biggest themes of the season: DeFi on Etherlink.

Hosted by Trilitech and Nomadic Labs, the session brought together David Ryan, David Relkin, Cédric Roche, and Aaron Mallet for a wide-ranging conversation on scaling, recent upgrades, and the growing impact of projects like Apple Farm. From smart contract tooling to user experience, the discussion highlighted how Etherlink is evolving to meet the demands of builders and protocols ready to launch today.

Last Chance: “Compositions in Code” Closes Sunday at MoMI

If you're in New York, now's the time to catch Compositions in Code: The Art of Processing and p5.js before it wraps this Sunday at the Museum of the Moving Image.

Presented in collaboration with the Tezos Foundation and Processing.org, this thoughtful series highlights the intersection of code and creativity through works by artists Lia and Sarah Ridgley. Both artists explore generative art in ways that are deeply personal and technically rich—each piece a reflection of algorithmic structure and human intention.

  • Sarah Ridgley’s “The Words Were Only Coordinates” invites viewers to consider the fragility of language and the shapes meaning can take.

  • Lia’s “It Is Black It Is White It Is Yellow (fragment)” is a meditation on contrast and motion, available both online and in the museum lobby.
