Tezos is always ahead of the Curve

There’s something about momentum that’s hard to ignore, and this week, it’s carrying across every layer of the Tezos ecosystem. From one of DeFi’s most influential protocols launching on Etherlink, to Seoul reaching quorum, to games, art, and ideas all finding new ground, it’s clear the pace is picking up.
As we step into August, builders are shipping, players are exploring, and community projects are coming to life. Here’s a look at what’s been happening across the network.

Curve Finance Comes to Etherlink: Deep Liquidity Meets Low Fees
Curve Finance, one of the most respected protocols in DeFi, is now live on Etherlink bringing its signature stablecoin trading model to Tezos’ high-speed Layer 2.
Built for low slippage, efficient swaps, and deep liquidity, Curve has long served as the backbone for stablecoin trading across Ethereum and beyond. Now, it's adding that same utility and liquidity to the Etherlink ecosystem, giving users and builders a new tool to move assets efficiently between pools.
Even better, Curve is participating in Apple Farm Season 2, with new yield opportunities now live across four incentivized pools. Liquidity providers can earn applXTZ, redeemable for WXTZ, as part of the second episode of the ongoing farming campaign.
And Curve isn’t alone this round. Episode 2 of Apple Farm introduced 10 new opportunities, including:
Hanji – trade or provide liquidity for rewards
Youves – earn by supporting the stXTZ/WXTZ pool
Sugarverse – just hold $CNDY to start farming
With more protocols joining each episode and rewards shifting every two weeks, Apple Farm continues to create new ways for users to explore and engage with DeFi on Etherlink.

Seoul Proposal Clears Quorum, Heads to Cooldown Phase
With new DeFi protocols landing on Etherlink and fresh rewards rolling out in Apple Farm, the momentum isn't just in the application layer. On-chain governance is moving forward too. The Seoul protocol proposal has officially crossed quorum, with over 56 percent participation from bakers in the Promotion Period.
That surpasses the required 50 percent threshold and confirms Seoul will advance into the Cooldown Phase, followed by the final vote before activation.
Seoul brings a focused set of upgrades aimed at improving the staking and baking experience while continuing to refine Layer 1 performance. Key changes include:
Native multisig support for tz4 accounts, making collaborative and institutional staking easier to manage
Aggregated attestations, significantly reducing bandwidth requirements and paving the way for faster block times
Open unstake finalization, allowing third parties to finalize unstaking operations on behalf of users to streamline the staking experience
These improvements are designed to improve security, simplify workflows, and give bakers and developers more reliable infrastructure to build on.
With quorum now met, bakers should prepare for the next phase of voting. Full activation is getting closer.
This Week in the Tezos Ecosystem
This week also brought a major step forward for gaming on Tezos. One of the ecosystem’s most anticipated titles is now officially on Steam.

Reaper Actual Is Now on Steam
Reaper Actual, the open-world persistent shooter built on Etherlink, is now available to wishlist on Steam.
Developed by DPS Games in collaboration with Trilitech, the game blends tactical FPS combat with large-scale MMO persistence, where the world evolves based on player actions and ownership is tied to in-game progress.
Some of what you can expect:
A living open world with evolving player-controlled zones
Fast-paced FPS mechanics built for competitive play
AI-generated missions and dynamic objectives
Base building and territory ownership
In-game items and structures backed by on-chain logic
An emphasis on long-term progression and community feedback
Reaper Actual is designed to reward time, strategy, and collaboration. With early access around the corner, now’s the time to get it on your radar.

Beata Lipska on Mentorship and Building with Etherlink
To close out this week, Beata Lipaska, Technical User Relations Squad Lead at Trilitech, took the stage at TezDev Catalyst to share her journey into Web3 and the role mentorship plays in building a strong developer ecosystem.
She also highlighted the Etherlink Summer of Code Hackathon with Encode Club, which is helping new builders gain hands-on experience working with Tezos Layer 2.
It’s a thoughtful talk on learning, growth, and how community and support can shape the future of development on Tezos.
