The Baking Sheet - Issue #280

Welcome Tezos community to another edition of The Baking Sheet!
This week, we’re seeing the next stage of real-world adoption take shape. Tokenized uranium just became usable collateral across DeFi, marking another first for on-chain finance. At the same time, Tezos co-founder Arthur Breitman is set to take the stage at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Fintech Conference, joining leaders from BlackRock and Morgan Stanley to discuss how tokenization is reshaping global markets.
We’ll also look back at Arthur’s recent appearance at SALT London, reveal the winners of the #GmIfYouDare Halloween challenge, and share details for the upcoming Tezos Breakfast Club in Buenos Aires.
Let’s get into it.

Borrow with Your xU3O8
A new chapter has opened for Uranium.io and the world’s first tokenized uranium, holders of xU3O8 can now borrow against their uranium directly on OKU Trade, powered by Morpho Labs, one of DeFi’s most trusted lending platforms.
This new feature expands what tokenized uranium can do beyond just price exposure. Holders can now:
Use xU3O8 as collateral
Borrow stablecoins like USDC
Stay long on nuclear energy while tapping liquidity
Access new opportunities across DeFii all while keeping ownership of their uranium position
The process is simple: choose how much to borrow, receive USDC near-instantly, and repay whenever it suits you. There are no fixed schedules, just a live LTV ratio that determines how much you can safely borrow before liquidation.
Interest rates adjust dynamically based on lending pool activity, and users can repay at any time in part or in full. The result is a flexible, transparent borrowing experience built on trustless infrastructure and a first for tokenized commodities.
It’s another step forward for real-world assets on Tezos, blending traditional market principles with the accessibility and composability of DeFi.

Arthur Breitman to Speak at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia
Following a week that saw tokenized uranium take a major step into DeFi, Tezos co-founder Arthur Breitman is set to carry that conversation to one of the most established stages in finance.
On November 12, Arthur will speak at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Ninth Annual Fintech Conference, joining a panel titled “Tokenizing the World: Exploring the Potential of Putting Assets on the Blockchain.”
The discussion will bring together voices from Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, and Ondo Finance, alongside researchers and policymakers from the Wharton School, Columbia University, and the University of Cambridge. Moderated by Aaron Klein of the Brookings Institution, the panel will dive into the evolving role of tokenized assets and what they mean for global market infrastructure.
Arthur will highlight how Tezos is quietly building the foundations for a more open and programmable financial system, one where assets like uranium, once locked behind institutional walls, can move freely on-chain with transparency and real ownership.
As Arthur put it, “The real excitement comes from the assets being tokenized. That’s why I’m specifically excited about uranium. We’re opening something completely new. That’s where the focus should be, on what’s actually changing.”
It’s a fitting conversation for Tezos to be part of, bridging public sector insight and on-chain progress at a moment when the boundaries between traditional and decentralized finance continue to blur.
This Week in the Tezos Ecosystem

Arthur Breitman at SALT London
After confirming his upcoming appearance at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Arthur Breitman joined the stage at SALT London this week to share how DeFi can power real finance and expand access to assets that have historically been out of reach.
Speaking on a panel about the future of tokenized markets, Arthur urged builders to look beyond replicating traditional products and focus instead on creating entirely new markets for globally important assets.
“Instead of focusing on assets which are very popular but have a lot of venues,” he said, “what if we create new markets for assets which are globally important, like uranium?”
It’s a vision that continues to unfold across Tezos, where Uranium.io on Etherlink is turning that question into action by opening a new class of real-world assets to investors everywhere.

#GmIfYouDare: The Results Are In
Next up on the plate, Halloween week on Tezos brought out the community’s playful side. The #GmIfYouDare contest invited creators to craft the funniest, spookiest, and most original Tezos or Etherlink-themed AI videos, and the results did not disappoint.
From haunted wallets to trick-or-tez surprises, entries came pouring in, proving once again that creativity on Tezos knows no bounds.
